C73x&X73x ? Light Print or Void at Bottom of Page

Defect Symptom

Your printer produces light print or a void at the page's bottom, and/or fuser smudge appears; i.e., you observe marks of misplaced toner on the bottom of the page.

Troubleshooting
  1. Access KB: Ghosting or Repeating Images on the Printed Page by typing it into the search field at support.lexmark.com.

  2. Print the "Print Defects Guide" in the "Help" menu and review the print samples.

  3. If the defect repeats at the bottom of the page, use the defect ruler to determine which component is defective.
    NOTE:
    The toner cartridges or photoconductor units cause most print quality defects.

  4. If the defect component is not identified, determine whether the defect is similar to the defects pictured above. Should the defect be similar to the above images, please contact Lexmark Technical Support for other troubleshooting suggestions.
