201.10 Paper Jam Error

Issue description

The 201.10 error code will show if the printer registers that the trailing edge of the paper has passed/cleared the Input Sensor too soon.

Verify whether the printer supports the weight, size, and type of the paper loaded on the tray. Click here for details of the Paper sizes, types and weights supported by this printer.

Ensure that the Paper Size setting of the printer matches the actual size of the paper loaded. To do this:

For Lexmark C73x

  1. Ensure the printer is on and Ready appears.

  2. From the printer control panel, press menu.

  3. Press the down arrow button or up arrow button until the check mark appears next to Paper Menu, press the check button.

  4. Press the down arrow button or up arrow button until the check mark appears next to Paper Size/Type, press the check button.

  5. Press the down arrow button or up arrow button until the correct tray or feeder appears, press the check button.

  6. Press the down arrow button or up arrow button until the correct size appears, press the check button. Paper Type should appear next.

  7. Press the down arrow button or up arrow button until the correct tray or feeder appears, press the check button. "Submitting selection..." appears and the printer returns to the Paper Size/Type menu. Press the back button until the printer returns to Ready.

For Lexmark X73x

  1. Ensure the printer is on and Ready appears.

  2. On the home screen, touch the menu button.

  3. Touch Paper Menu.

  4. Touch Paper Size/Type.

  5. Touch the right arrow for the desired tray until the correct size or type setting appears.

  6. Touch Submit.

  7. Touch the home button to return to the home screen.

Remove the paper from the tray and fan all four sides before reloading it.

Check inside the printer for anything that may cause obstruction in the paper path. Send a couple of print job and see if the error returns.

  • If the error does not show, continue normal printer use. However, observe it closely over the next few days to see whether the issue returns.
  • If the error persists, contact Lexmark Technical Support for other troubleshooting suggestions.
