How to Determine the Version of Your Installed Printer Driver

Overview

This article provides the steps required to obtain your printer driver version.

Click on Start.

Click on the

Start icon.

Click on Setting > Printers and Faxes.

Click on

Devices and Printers.

Right-click on your default printer.

Right-click on your default printer.

Click on Properties.

Click on

Printer properties.

Click on Help, and then About.


Note:

Some drivers only require that you click on the About tab.

Click on Help,and then About.

Double -click the hard disk (partition) where OS X is installed.

Double-click Applications.

Double-click Utilities.

Double-click Printer Setup Utility.

Click the printer that you are using, and then click Show Info.

The printer driver version appears under Driver Version.

Every printer requires a piece of software (driver) that converts print files into a format that the printer can correctly process.

NOTE:
Not all printers have the same driver capabilities nor driver availability. Also, physical hardware characteristics prevent certain emulations from being supported.

The printer driver type and the printer driver version can influence the quality of the final printed page.
