Overview
This article details the steps required to set up a Lexmark Print Management (LPM) queue on a Macintosh OS X, Linux, or Unix environment.

Before you begin
This setup requires a Windows server where the LDD Client service and Line Printer Daemon (LPD) are enabled.
Windows LPD service is off by default. To enable, go to Start > type Services, and then locate and enable the required services. If the LPD service is not available, follow the steps found on this Windows document.

Procedure
NOTE: You will need an admin account to add a queue.
Alternatively, you may perform the following steps for a Macintosh OS X system:

1 | Click the Apple symbol > System Preferences, and then select Print and Fax or Print & Scan or Printers and Scanners. |
2 | Click the + button to add a new printer. |
3 | Click the IP tab, and then fill out the following fields: - Address: <Type the Windows Print Server IP address.>
- Protocol: Line Printer Daemon – LPD
- Queue: <Use the Windows Print Server Print Queue share name.>
- Name: <Any>
- Location: <Leave blank.>
- Use: <Either select a Lexmark model if its listed in select printer software drop down box, or, you may use a Generic Postscript option if you cannot download the driver.>
