After restarting the PC, or after an undetermined period of time, your Configuration Options become unchecked or disabled. Hence, these options are no longer available through the application and thus no longer usable.
Universal Print Driver: Disabled options(Start > Devices and Printers > Printer Properties > Configuration > Configuration Options.)
NOTE:
With certain options, you may need to verify they are physically recognized by the printer. To do this, you can access the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) > Reports > Device Settings > Supplies Menu and locate the names of these options;i.e., Staple or Hole Punch.Access the printer EWS by typing the printer IP address into the URL field of your browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari). For example, enter http://MFP_IP_Address, where MFP_IP_Address is the IP address of the printer.

Explanation
This happens when the printer driver performs a Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) query while the printer's display language is set to any non-English language. This can be verified via the printer’s EWS > Settings > General Settings > Display Language.
NOTE: An SNMP query occasionally communicates with the printer to obtain and select the Configuration Options values (e.g., staple, hole punch, etc.)
