How to install and use the Twack_32 app and capture Lexmark NW Twain and ScanCore logs

Overview

This article documents installing and using the Twack_32 app and capturing Lexmark NW Twain and ScanCore logs.

Requirements

Make sure to prepare the following beforehand:

• Twain Group provided Twack_32 app​
• Lexmark Twain Driver
• Lexmark printer updated to the latest firmware version

Solution

Capturing logs

1. Open Regedit.



2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Lexmark\NetworkTwain\Logger.



3. Change the ​​​​​​StartLog​​​​ value to ​​​​​​data 1​​​​. 



4. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Lexmark\NetworkTwain\DRS\Logger.



5. Change the ​​​​​​StartLog​​​​ value to ​​​​​​data 1​​​​. 



6. Reproduce the scan issue.

Expected Result

The required ​​​​​​NetTwain.log​​​​ and ​​​​​​ScanCoreLog.log​​​​ log files can now be found in the ​​​​​​C:\ProgramData folder​​​​.
