How to initiate a Telnet session to a Lexmark print server

Purpose

A Telnet session will allow you to configure the following IP settings:

• DHCP
• BootP
• LPD timeout values
• Restricted server list
• Port configuration on external network adapters.

Procedure

To initiate a Telnet session to the print server:

1. Go to a command prompt and type the following:telnet (ip_address) 9000, replacing (ip_address) with the IP address of the print server.



2. If the connection is successful, a list of options for configuring the adapter will be displayed.



3. Use the on-screen menus to change the options.
