925.xx Service Fuser Error on a Lexmark T64x Series Printer

ENUS19123

Explanation of the error message

A 925.xx Fuser Error message indicates that the printer thinks the wrong fuser lamp or fuser assembly is installed.

Resolution

  1. If this is the first time you have seen the error, turn the printer off.

  2. Leave the printer off for at least 10 seconds before turning it back on. This gives the printer a chance to reset.

  3. If this does not clear the fuser error, check the following:

    • If the fuser unitwas recently replaced, confirm that the correct fuser unit was installed.
      1. If possible, put the old fuser unit back into the printer.

      2. If the error message goes away, please check that the new fuser unit is the correct one for this printer model. (If you need the correct part number, contact the Lexmark Technical Support Center.)

    • If the fuser has not been replaced recently, you may want to check how the printer is plugged into the wall.
      1. Make sure the printer is plugged straight into the wall and not through a surge device or power strip. Power strips and uninterrupted power supplies can cause a low amperage problem in the printer which can trigger a false fuser error. Verify also whether the printer works on a

        110

        or

        220

volt source by checking its Power Label on its back and ensure that the power outlet matches its working voltage rating.

      2. If the printer is already on a wall outlet, try plugging the printer into a different outlet, if possible.

  4. If the fuser error continues, the printer will need to be examined by a service technician and repaired as necessary.
