Overview
Aside from not having a power switch/button, the new 25xx+ Forms printer models also introduces the Power Saver feature. Unlike its predecessor models (Forms 25xx), users of the 25xx+ models will have an option to set the timeout to 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours or Disable it.
NOTE: This feature is only available in the following models: 2580+, 2580n+, 2581+, 2581n+, 2590+, 2590n+, 2591, 2591n+. The default value set on the printer upon purchase is 2 Hours.
Adjustment procedure
| Step | Action |
| 1 | Power the printer ON. Click the link to see the Location of the power switch. |
| 2 | Once the printer has fully booted, open the Op Panel Cover to access its second layer. |
| 3 | Make sure paper is loaded on its tractor. Press the “Set Up” button to enter Set up mode. The printer should print the Set Up Page. |
| 4 | Navigate through the menus. Under “Control Options” you’ll see “OFF Mode”, enter it. |
| 5 | Once you’re in “OFF Mode” menu, you will see that default timeout is 2 hours. Here you can change the desired timeout or disable the feature. |
| 6 | Navigate back through the menus until you see “Return to Main Menu” and select it. |
| 7 | Select “Exit and Save Set Up” to save the desired changes made.
NOTE: For network models (e.g., 2580n+, 2581n+, 2590n+, 2591n+), the “Control Options” is not available on the Embedded Web Server (EWS). Therefore, changes will have to be made on the printer itself.
