900 error message and scanner is heating up

Issue description

Intermittent 900 firmware error appears on the printer and scanner is too hot at some point.

Solution

1. Turn off the printer and power it back on after one minute.



2. Check the printer if the error message still appears.

   • If no error message appears, issue is possibly resolved.
   • if the 900 error message still appears, proceed to the next step.


3. Check the surface of the scanner and verify if becomes too hot.

   • If the scanner has normal temperature, proceed to General troubleshooting guide for 900.00 error.
   • if the scanner temperature is hot, please contact Lexmark support for further assistance.
