Using Local (USB) connection

  1. Remove any previously installed drivers by locating and running the Uninstaller application.

  4. The installation process ends with the Printer Setup screen of the Lexmark Setup Assistant.

Using Network (Ethernet) or Wireless Connection

Make sure that the printer is turned ON and Ready and make sure that your computer is communicating on the network. If your printer is already communicating wirelessly or with an established Ethernet connection, proceed to Step 3.

  1. Choose a method to join your wireless network.

    • For the default installation method, double-click on the Install icon and follow the instructions on your computer screen for the network connection type being used.
    • For the Wi-Fi Protected Setup, activate WPS push-button method from the printer by:
      1. Press (Setup) > Network Setup > Wireless Networking > Wi-Fi Protected Setup > PBC

      2. Quickly go to the wireless router to press its WPS button and wait for configuration to complete.

      3. Repeat if necessary.

    • For the Ethernet-to-Wireless Setup, obtain the printer IP address and navigate to Settings > Network/Ports > Wireless to configure your security settings.
  2. If your printer is not Bonjour-enabled, you must obtain the printer IP address; e.g., 192.168.0.125.

  3. Add the print queue.

    1. From the Apple menus, navigate to either of the following: System Preferences >Print & Scan or System Preferences >Print & Fax.

    2. Click the [+] sign and then the Default Tab.

    3. On the Default tab, select (highlight) the printer from the list of discovered printers. Option: For printers that do not support Bonjour, select IP tab, select Internet Protocol (IPP) or HP JetDirect Socket under the Protocol tab, and then enter the printer IP Address.

    4. The system automatically searches for the applicable driver.

Note:  If the print driver is not found, select it manually from the Print Using drop-down list. Click Others and search for your printer model's corresponding PPD file.

    5. Click Add.

  4. Verify the successful connection by going to System Preferences > Print and Scan or System Preferences > Print and Fax.

  5. Note:  If you must re-run this application:

    • Navigate to the Lexmark <Model> Series installation folder.
    • Directory path: <HD Volume>/Library/Printers/Lexmark/2### folder; i.e., 2009
