'An MFP Was Not Found at the Specified Address' Error with Scanback Utility Version 4.2.X.X

An advanced password prevents Scanback Utility ver. 3.3.x - 4.2.x from finding the printer, and the application displays "An MFP was not found at the specified address."

Remove the advanced password to allow the utility to find the printer.

To do this:

  1. Navigate the MFP's web sites, e.g., http://MFP_IP_Address, where MFP_IP address is the address of the printer.

  2. Click on Configuration > Security > Create/Change Password and identify the presence of an Advanced Password

  3. Under Security > Password Protect > Create Scan Profile change the Accept Advanced Password setting to Not Protected.

  4. Try to create or select the MFP again.

Explanation

Scanback Utility is not designed to work with authenticated (password) access to the device.
