How to set up Fax Forwarding

Overview

This article explains what fax forwarding is and how you can set it up on your multifunction printer (MFP).

What is "Fax Forwarding"?

Fax forwarding allows you to set up your MFP to forward an incoming fax to one of the following:

  • Another fax machine
  • An e-mail address
  • An FTP server
  • Lexmark Document Solution Services (LDSS)

Before you begin

You first have to set up a shortcut for the fax forward function you are using. Refer to the printer's User's Guide for instructions. Click here and select the guide for your printer.

Setting up Fax Forwarding using the printer's Web page

Go to the Web browser of the printer.

Click Configuration.

Click Fax Settings.

Click Analog Fax Setup.

Under Fax Receive Settings, change Fax Forwarding to Forward.

Enter the required number next to Forward to Shortcut.

Click Submit.

Lightly press the Menus option on the screen.

Press Settings.

Press Fax Settings.

Press Fax Receive Settings.

Change Fax Forwarding to Forward.

Enter the Forward to Shortcut number.

Press Submit.
