- The issue occurs in the morning.
- After you clear several jams, the problem subsides and the printer functions properly.
- The issue occurs after long periods of time between print jobs.
- Inspection shows the trailing edge of paper just past the fuser.
Suggested Actions
Perform the following and then consider contacting Lexmark for further service options.
Clear the jam one last time.
To do this, use the green lever on the fuser to remove the paper.

Turn the printer off.
IMPORTANT! Allow the fuser to cool.
Remove the fuser.
To do this, loosen the the two thumb screws, put your fingers in the colored pull-tabs, and pull out the fuser.
Inspect the exit sensor by looking for toner build-up, other obstructions, or sensor damage.
Clean the actuator(sensor) arm if possible. Otherwise, see Still Need Help? below.
