This article has instructions for reflashing or loading Forms merge code and form sets to any printer that has X4600 Scanner option installed.
NOTE: This article may be also useful to anyone that needs to reload formsets on to your internal flash or hard drive.

Disconnect the scanner part from the printer and remove the corresponding scanner PCI card inside the printer.
Turn on the printer without any scanner.
Send the scanner-specific firmware that is approved for the printer to the blank daughter card.
Once the flash procedure completes and the printer reboots, you should see an error message: PCI Bridge Failure, Device not found, Check printer PCI card.
Turn off the machine and reconnect the PCI card, and the cable from the scanner, to the printer.
Reboot the device now that it is completely reassembled.

After sending the Formsmerge.fls to the printer, send LC.MC.E104 engine code or better to the printer now.
Next, send the fullfm.fls file.
Verify your code levels. To do this, print your Menus Settings page, or open the printer's embedded web page and look under Reports > Menu Settings.

NOTES
- Step 1: You will have to remove the PCI card to which the cable from the scanner is connected; i.e., you will have to manually unplug the PCI card from the printer.
- Step 2: If the daughter card is blank, then proceed to next step. Otherwise, you will need to hold down the Menu button as you boot the printer.
- Step 3: This fullnet.fls file contains specialized base code and engine code that allows the attachment of the scanner. At time of this article, LC2.TI.P305a was the latest code level for this purpose. Do not load Formsmerge (fullfm.fls) yet.
- Step 4: An error is present because of the absence of the PCI card, and because the daughter card has scanner-specific code that would also attempt to look for the scanner.

Load Forms "Sets"
You may now load the forms to either a flash or disk. Remember, you can access the “Print Directory” if a hard drive or forms flash card is installed.
Install forms or form sets(files) to disk:
Open Forms Manageron your PC select add printer (with correct IP).
Select “Add Forms Sets” from menu bar at top middle of screen.
Select directory where forms are stored.
Select “All” (Control A).
Click on “Open” from screen option and all selected formsets will download.
Verify that the files have successfully transferred to the installed flash or hard driver on the printer; i.e., you can view the“Print Directory” from
the printer's
front operator panel or via the
EWS > Reports to see the form files installed on the disk.
Install formsets to the user flash (not disk):
Send “eraseflash.fls” if other files/data exists on flash. You only need to perform this step if flash has existing data. If using new flash memory, skip this step.
Send userflash.fls.
Press OK on printer panel when the message “unformatted flash detected” is visible.
Press the Menu button and then navigate to the Utilities menu and activate the Format Flash option to format the memory.
