Purpose
This article explains how to update the printer code using USBFlash.
Where to obtain the utility
This utility can be downloaded from our FTP site. Go to ftp://ftp.lexmark.com/lexmark_utilities/USBFlash.exe.
How to use the utility
To update the code, follow the instructions below. IMPORTANT: Do not power off the Multifunction Printer (MFP) unless specifically instructed to do so.
Power off the MFP.
Connect a local computer to the MFP via a USB cable, and then power the MFP back on.
Confirm that the MFP is at Ready and on the Home screen. Then launch the USBFlash application.
Confirm that the MFP is listed under Select Printer from List.
Click Browse Files. Change the File Type to All Files and choose the MFP file that has been updated with a .fll extension
Click Start. NOTE: The file may take a few minutes to upload
Once the upload process is complete, the MFP will reboot itself and will be updated to the new MFP software.
