950.xx NVRAM Mismatch error code

Issue description

A 950 NVRAM Mismatch message indicates that the MFP's system card has encountered an error while checking its NVRAM (non-volatile random access memory).

Solution

If a 950 NVRAM Mismatch message appears on your MFP, a service call may be required. However, please be aware that certain rare occurrences, such as a power fluctuation or a static discharge in the vicinity of the MFP, can cause a false 950 NVRAM Mismatch message to appear. In such cases, the error is only temporary and can be easily resolved without service. The following steps help determine if a service call is required:

  1. Power the MFP off, wait thirty (30) seconds, and then power the MFP back on. Did the error message return?

    • Yes: Continue to step 2.
    • No: Print a test page. If the page prints, the printer is working correctly.
  2. Reset the printer's factory defaults. Did the error message return?

    • Yes: Continue to step 2.
    • No: Print a test page. If the page prints, the printer is working correctly.
  3. If possible, connect the MFP's power cord directly into a grounded wall outlet. In rare instances, a surge protector or uninterruptible power supply (UPS) can generate false error messages. Did the error message return?

    • Yes: Contact Lexmark Technical Support.
    • No: Print a test page. If the page prints, the MFP is functioning correctly.
