Faded black print check

Issue description

A print quality issue where black prints have a washed out look while color images appear to be okay.

The printed output depicts black prints likely have a top to bottom fade in text areas, or solid areas show a quick top to bottom fade.

Note:  For issues related to three colors (CMY) partially visible, check this article.

Solution

  1. Touch the Status/Supplies icon in the printer control panel. Check the supply status and replace those that are low or empty.

    Proceed with the next step if all supplies register sufficient amounts.

  2. Print the Print Quality Samples. From the control panel, navigate through: Settings > Report > Print Quality Pages.

  3. Enter the settings menu: Print > Quality > Advanced Imaging > Color Adjust > Start, and print a test page.

    Note:  Color Adjust can be performed at the control panel or the embedded web server (EWS).
