664.43 or 665.53 paper jam error codes

Issue description

The user encounters persistent 664.43 or 665.53 paper jam error codes.

These errors occur when the high capacity input tray (HCIT) elevator does not lift the paper stack to its picking position.

It is also observed to occur in the following conditions:

• The printer wakes from Sleep mode, and the tray elevator fails to lift during the initialization sequence.
• A paper jam occurs in front of the tray near the pick rollers. This paper jam blocks the elevator from reaching the target position.

Solution

1. Open Door K.



2. Remove the paper stack and inspect the tray. Remove any visible jammed paper inside the printer.



3. Close Door K. The elevator lifts the paper stack until it is detected by the sensor.



4. Reprint the job.
