Toner dust on the outside of toner cartridges

Issue description

Toner dust or toner particle contamination is found outside the toner cartridge.

Note:  This issue can affect any of the colors or even multiple colors at once.

Possible cause:

• The printer is stationed in warm environments.
• Heavy usage of the printer can cause this issue.

Solution

Wipe the toner dust or contamination from the toner cartridge with a damp cloth.

Notes:

• Heavy amounts of toner contamination require assistance from a service technician to replace a developer unit or an imaging kit.
• Minor amounts of toner dust or contamination are normal and does not impact printer function.
