15x.xx error code appears after installing the toner cartridge

Issue description

155.xx, 156.xx, 157.xx, or 158.xx error appears shortly after a new toner cartridge is installed.

Possible cause:

  • A defective toner cartridge results from damage or temperatures that are too high or too low.

Solution

  1. Remove the newly installed toner cartridge from the printer.

  2. Shake the toner cartridge to loosen possible toner buildup.

    Note:  If the issue persists, then contact customer support.

  3. Insert the new toner cartridge until it clicks into place.

  4. Restart the printer.
