31.40, 31.60, 33.60, and 84. xx ‑ Imaging unit and/or cartridge errors

Issue description

Customer confirms they are printing in an environment that is corrosive to metals. An example would be a pool supplies store that sells chlorine. The customer then states they are experiencing sporadic cartridge and imaging unit errors like 31.40, 31.60, 33.60, and 84.xx.

A possible solution is applying dielectric grease (41X5847) to the cartridge and imaging unit contacts.

To do these, follow the steps below on how to apply Dielectric Grease to Toner Cartridge & Imaging Unit .

  1. Power down and unplug device.

  2. Remove toner cartridge and imaging unit.

  3. Gently wipe/clean ALL toner cartridge and imaging unit contacts with IPA foam swab or a sterile alcohol prep pad.
