How to set a custom message on the home screen of Winner’s Circle devices

Overview

The configuration of some device settings in Winner’s Circle devices has been modified to use the Virtual Configuration Center (VCC). This is unlike the previous printer models wherein all of the settings can be configured via the Universal Configuration File (UCF).

NOTE: VCC can install eSF apps, manage eSF, user, and security settings, apply manufacturing configurations, and install licenses.

This article explains how to change the Custom Message on the home screen via VCC.

Procedure

The Custom Message setting can be changed by using the Bundle.zip configuration file. Please follow the steps below:

Export the printer’s current Bundle.zip Configuration File via embedded web server (EWS) > Settings > Configuration Files > Export.

Note: Exporting or importing the Virtual Configuration Center (VCC) Bundle.ZIP configuration file to view the detailed steps on how to export the Configuration File.

Extract the Bundle.zip file, and then edit the bundle.xml with the desired value from the list below:

<setting name="customMsg.home.trigger">IP Address</setting>

<setting name="customMsg.home.trigger">Hostname</setting>

<setting name="customMsg.home.trigger">Contact Name</setting>

<setting name="customMsg.home.trigger">Location</setting>

<setting name="customMsg.home.trigger">Zero Configuration Name</setting>

<setting name="customMsg.home.trigger">Custom Text 1</setting>

Note: Choose only one (1) that applies.

Recompress the file into Bundle.zip and import to the device via embedded web server (EWS) > Settings >Configuration Files >Import.
