Suggested Remedy

Attempt to uninstall Windows Live components on the machine hosting the share and verify that this fixes the problem.

Explanation

Connections necessary for Simple Message Block (SMB) to work with SNF are being disrupted by Window Live components such as Live Sign-In assistant, live mail, and other applications.
