What you will see
The printer does not stay in sleep mode. When it’s time for the printer to go into Sleep mode:
- It clicks off.
- 15 seconds later, it clicks on.
- 10 seconds later, the fan revs up.

Troubleshooting
Check the firmware levels installed in the device by printing its Menu Settings page. To do this, navigate through: Menu > Reports > Menu Settings page.
Verify whether both “Base” and “Engine” codes are updated to the latest released levels. Should any of the codes require updating, follow the subsequent steps to download and update your printer’s firmware.

How to download firmware
Go to support.lexmark.com.
Type your printer model in the “Enter Product Name” field and click
OR click on the picture of the correct printer model shown.Locate the “Downloads” tab.
Select the version of the Operating System.
Click the link available under "Firmware".
Once you have the latest firmware downloaded, proceed with any of the options below to perform the update.
