Unable to clear the ADF maintenance intervention message

Issue description

When the printer posts the intervention message "Scanner Maintenance required, use ADF kit [80]," installing the maintenance kit (Part Number: 40X8431) will not be able to clear the message.

Solution

The issue will occur if the ADF Separator Roll and Pick Assembly Counter is not reset after a new ADF Maintenance Kit installation. Follow these steps below to fix the issue:

  1. Go to the printer's Configuration menu:

    • Power off the printer.
    • Press and hold 2 and 6 simultaneously.
    • Power on the printer.
    • Release the buttons when splash screen appears.

    In the Configuration Menu, navigate to Reset ADF Maintenance Kit Counter > Reset Separator Roll and Pick Assembly Counter.

    Did this resolve the issue?

    • If YES, then no further actions needed.
    • If NO, proceed to the next step.
  2. Upgrading the printer’s firmware to LW60.xx.P643 or higher should be able to clear the Scan ADF Maintenance message.
