How to reinstall Pharos Blueprint Apps

Overview

This article provides a guide to reinstall the following Pharos Blueprint apps:

• Lexmark Embedded Document Accounting Solution for User Level Tracking (eDAS)

  • Lexmark Register ME
  • Keyboard Emulation Reader Driver

Procedure

Perform the following:

1Check the versions of the apps and gather the installation files.

Go to the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) > Settings > Import/Export > Export Embedded Solutions Settings File to export apps’ settings.

Note: Access the printer EWS by typing the printer IP address into the URL field of your browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari). For example, enter http://MFP_IP_Address, where MFP_IP_Address is the IP address of the printer.

3Go to the printer’s EWS >Settings >Embedded Solutions or Device Solutions Solutions (eSF) or Apps Apps Management, click on the License tab, and then click on Show Local License.
4Copy and paste the content of the license to a notepad and save the file as license.lic.

Reset the printer’s apps.

6Reinstall the eDAS, RegisterME, and Keyboard Emulation Reader (.fls files) apps via EWS >Settings >Embedded Solutions or Device Solutions Solutions (eSF) or Apps Apps Management >InstallBrowse/Choose File Start/Start Install.
7Go to the printer’s EWS >Settings >Import/Export >Import Embedded Solutions Settings File to import apps’ settings.

Go to the printer’s EWS > Settings > Embedded Solutions or Device Solutions Solutions (eSF) or Apps Apps Management, click on the License tab, and then click on Update License.

Note: Use the license.lic file saved in Step 4.

Enter the app’s password. To do so, go to the printer’s EWS > Settings > Embedded Solutions or Device Solutions Solutions (eSF) or Apps Apps Management and select the following:

  • Lexmark Embedded Document Accounting for User Tracking > Configure, enter the password, and then test the settings (see Image 1).

Note: The default password is pharos.

  • Lexmark Register ME > Configure, enter the LDAP password (verify from the system administrator) and Document Accounting Server Settings password (pharos is the default), and then test the settings (see Image 2).
