Issue description
Vertical black streaks/bands are seen on the print output. In most instances, the streaks are more solid and wider at the page top than the bottom. See this sample printout below:
Possible cause
Most likely, before the streaks, the printer might have produced solid black pages. Due to the excessive toner consumption involved in that, the imaging unit developed localized starvation points that led to only portions of the page showing black/gray prints.
Troubleshooting
If the print defect appeared only after replacing the Imaging Unit, ensure that all shipping materials have been removed from the Imaging Unit, including any pieces of tape located on the unit's side
(
A
) and the red shipping separator (
B
). A metal contact located on the right-hand side of the imaging unit (
C
) may have been removed when pulling the tape off the imaging unit; reinsert the metal piece and reinstall the Imaging Unit to see whether the error persists.
