"Busy" Message Appears Intermittently on the Control Panel

What you will see

A “Busy” message displays intermittently on a Lexmark MX812's the control panel even when there is no job sent or performed on the printer.


NOTE:
At this state, the printer is still responsive; i.e., users can still perform other functions (e.g., copy, scan, etc), yet the message itself can only be cleared by restarting the printer.

Suggested Remedy

Follow the steps below:

  1. Try a different network cable.

  2. Update the printer’s firmware to the latest code level.
