Auto Update of Printer Peripherals Is Not Possible in a Novell iPrint Environment

What you will see

You cannot perform Auto Update of printer peripherals or a add-on options via the printer driver.

Observed symptom:

A "Cannot find printer" communication error message is displayed.

Explanation

It is not possible to do the automatic driver configuration with Lexmark drivers. Printer options will have to be configured manually.

You need a Standard IP port or a Lexmark Enhanced TCP/IP port to enable full bi-directional communication.

No fix is available. However, please contact Lexmark Technical Support to inquire about the possibility of requesting a special product that would enable this capability.
