Lexmark X651/X652/X654/X656 ? The Upper-Front Cover Does Not Stay in Open Position when Pulled Up

Overview

The top-front cover of a Lexmark X651/X652/X654/X656 multifunction printer holds the Operator Panel and covers most of the printer’s interior part. When opened, it should stay in an upward position to provide you easy access for replacing toner cartridges or clearing paper jams.

The cover does not stay in the open position

If the top-front cover of the printer does not stay in the open position, check the cover hinges that hold the cover on both sides (see images below). If either are broken, contact Lexmark Technical Support and report the issue. Ask the Technical Support Agent to verify the printer’s warranty and request for service.
