C73x&X73x ? Mottle: Marks, Splotches, or Vertical Bands of Color

Defect Symptom

Mottle consists of marks, splotches, or vertical bands of cyan, magenta, yellow, or black, usually extending from the top to the bottom of the page.

Troubleshooting
  1. Perform the "Color Adjust" procedure in the "Quality"menu.

  2. If the defect persists after performing the Color Adjust procedure, and looks similar to the example shown above, it is most likely due to a defective toner cartridge. Contact Lexmark Technical Support, or your dealer, for a replacement.
