Overview
You cannot authenticate on a printer’s control panel via Manual Login in order to release a Lexmark Print Management (LPM) print job. Card authentication works.
NOTE: This happens after the printer has been repaired (e,g., system board replacement).

Recommended solution
Perform the following steps:
Step | Action |
1 | Open the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) using any web browsers (e.g., Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc.) Note: See to view steps to access printer's EWS.

2 | Go to Settings > Embedded Solutions or Device Solutions – Solutions (eSF) or Apps – Apps Management > Badge Authentication > Configure tab. |
3 | Make sure Logon Method is set to Card or Manual Login, and then click Apply. Note: Try to authenticate via Manual Login again. If the issue persists, proceed with next steps.

4 | Open a web browser, and then go to http://<loadbalancer IP address>:9780/lmc to open the Lexmark Management Console (LMC). |
5 | Go to the Device Groups tab > Discovered Devices, and then make sure that the printer’s IP address is on the list. |
6 | Go to the Devicestab, search the printer’s IP address, click on Policy Update, uncheck “Only update those devices which are Out of Policy”, and then click on Update Policy. |
