Cloud Fleet Management printer enrollment tool fails to start

Issue Description:

The Printer Enrollment Tool fails to start.

Solution:

There are two possible solutions:

  1. If a firewall is being used, these URLs must be allowed out using port 443. The URLs depend upon which Lexmark Cloud Services data center is being used. The data center being used can be determined by the URL of the login screen.

    • If the URL of the login starts with https:\\idp.us.iss.lexmark.com:

      • *.us.iss.lexmark.com

      • ccs.lexmark.com

      • ccs-cdn.lexmark.com

      • *.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com

    • If the URL of the login screen starts with https:\\idp.eu.iss.lexmark.com

      • *.eu.iss.lexmark.com

      • ccs.lexmark.com

      • ccs-cdn.lexmark.com

      • *.s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com

  2. Residue from a prior version of the Printer Enrollment Tool still exists on the workstation:

    • Delete the current PET version that you have.

    • Delete the folder, C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\printer-enrollment-tool

    • Login to the CFM portal and download and unzip a new version.

  3. Should the issue persist, please contact your next level of support for further diagnosis or possible escalation.

Additional Information:

If the Printer Enrollment Tool is still unable to start:

  1. Go to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\printer-enrollment-tool.

  2. Edit the settings.json file.

    • Change the logging level from 1 to 2: "logLevel":1 to "logLevel":2

  3. Try to restart the Printer Enrollment Tool.

  4. Go to C:\Users\<username>.\AppData\Local\printer-enrollment-tool and collect the DET.log file.
