Repeating defects

Note:  Before solving the problem, print the Print Quality Test Pages. From the home screen, touch Settings > Troubleshooting > Print Quality Test Pages.

Step 1

  • Using the Print Quality Test Pages, check if the distance between the repeating defects is equal to any of the following:
  • Imaging unit

    • 94.2  mm (3.7  in.)
    • 37.7  mm (1.48  in.)
    • 31.8  mm (1.25  in.)

    Second transfer roller

    • 50.3  mm (1.98  in.)

    Fuser

    • 95.1  mm (3.74  in.)
    • 82.5  mm (3.25  in.)

Does the distance between the repeating defects match the measurements?

Go to step 2.

Note:  If the repeating defects match the second transfer roller or fuser measurements, then contact customer support.

Take note of the distance, and then contact customer support.

Step 2

  1. Replace the affected supply item.

  2. Print the document.

Do the repeating defects appear?

Contact customer support.

The problem is solved.
