Toner missing or smears off print check

Issue description

The printout has toner missing or smears off due to the following reasons:

  1. The proper media type settings are not selected.

  2. The printer or media is stored in a cold environment.

Note:  The missing toner print issue can also occur on other areas of the page. The highlighted portions above are only examples.

Solution

  1. In the control panel, navigate to SettingsPaperTray Configuration.

  2. Select the appropriate paper type based on the media currently loaded in the tray.

  3. Perform a test print.

  4. If the issue persists, navigate to SettingsPaperMedia ConfigurationMedia Types.

  5. Select the media type option that is currently in the tray. For example, if Plain Paper is selected for the tray configuration setting, then select Plain Paper.

  6. Tap on the selected media type and set the Texture to Rough and Weight to Heavy.

  7. Perform a test print.
