Smart Card Authentication

`User ID Not Authorized? Message Displays After PKI/SCAC Login

Affected Products:

Solution: Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) or Smart Card Authentication Client (SCAC)

Issue Description:

A ‘User ID not Authorized’ message appears after logging in to the printer using either a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) or Smart Card Authentication Client (SCAC).

Solution:

Remove any value set for

Authorization setup

.

To do so:

  1. Open the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) using any web browsers (e.g., Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc.).

  2. Go to Settings > Security > Security Setup > Security Template.

  3. Select the SmartCard template, and then click Modify authorization.

  4. Set the Authorization Setup value to None, and then click Save Template.
